It was my cousin’s birthday and the entire family went to Stanley for a lunch buffet at King Ludwig Beerhall.
We sat outside on the patio, overlooking the water, but it was so windy and cold.
My relatives were there for the all-you-can-eat pork knuckle but I was more interested in the chocolate fountain!
The famous pork knuckle…..the skin was crispy and the meat was tender..
There was also a pasta station where you can choose your own toppings, sauce and pasta. I opted for more toppings and less spaghetti!

my friend wanted to go to Stanley to celebrate her birthday and had us vote on either german, spanish or seafood… and tada! the boathouse won!
the boathouse has a great view of the waterfront and the murray house…and it also has free wifi! (great for early arrivers!)
my friend and i decided to share: a large seafood bucket (prawns, mussels, clams) with white wine garlic cream sauce.. it was worth it cause the seafood was piled past the rim of the bucket! the seafood was ok fresh (no extreme fishy taste) but the clams and mussels were kinda small.. and again, the seafood platters in vancouver are better (fresher and of better quality)
and a salmon, crayfish ravioli…. ravioli was ok cause the filling was kinda dry.. and there’s not enough sauce..
also, the garlic bread that comes with the pasta and seafood bucket were really bad… i’ve never had soggy garlic bread… cause they’re supposed to be crispy…
Death by Chocolate… lava cake!! their lava cake’s better than the ones i make! there’s a lot of chocolate that oozes out.. and there’s ice- cream to pair with the chocolate!
and a shoutout to the “forever 19” birthday girl: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA!!
boathouse is kinda overrated..great location and great view.. but the food wasn’t exceptionally good…
