It was another friend’s birthday and she picked her favourite restaurant, Xi Yan, for dinner.
Previously, I’ve been to the Elements and the Wanchai branches, but this one specializes in dessert!
greenhouse tomato is wasabi sesame sauce… my fav!!! love the sauce!
dried scallop and choi sum salad with Chinese dressing… love the texture and the refreshing taste..
shrimp and crab relish on baguette….
non-spicy dan dan noodles… even though this dish was sauce-less, it was still very flavourful
crispy stuffed duck with glutinous rice… this wasn’t as good as before because the duck was really tough..
Zhenjiang spareribs.. tender and full of flavour
green tea and black sesame glutinous rice dumplings… couldn’t taste the green tea flavour…
caramel glutinous rice with banana ice-cream.. interesting combination
apple crisp with milk ice-cream…. this is sort of like apple crumble but the crumbles were too hard!
I really do like Xi Yan but the food is really overpriced…the meal came to $270 per person!

We had some time before attending an evening seminar, so my friend suggested to chillax at The Petit Café in Pacific Place. It was my first time at this café and I was blown away by how tranquil the atmosphere was. The café is located on the podium floor of the mall and is surround by greenery. It feels like a café in Downtown Vancouver!
I wasn’t sure if we were going to get fed at the seminar so this was considered my dinner.
I had the blueberry danish…. This looks good.. tastes good.. and has lots of fresh berries! All for $15!!
My friend and I also tried the fruit tart.. once again, the presentation is gorgeous and had lots of berries!
My friend had the cinnamon danish…
I also tried the almond croissant…. Well, I bought it for my breakfast the next day, but of course I had to take a bite anyways! Unfortunately, this was a disappointment because this one doesn’t have the custard/cream filling.

i mentioned in the previous post that the Kurobuta 黒豚 @ Mochi Cafe was a disappointment.. this was because i had the best kurobata @ Nadaman!
dad had read from a magazine that the kurobuta tonkatsu @ Nadaman is the best hk.. so of course we had to try it out!
it was indeed the best! the kurobuta was sooooooooooo tender and the meat literally melted in my mouth… even though the meat wasn’t fatty…
For slightly less than $300HKD for the kurobuta tonkatsu set (with rice and lettuce), it’s totally worth it! exceptional food, service and the view’s pretty swell!
