I love the neighbourhood St. Germain de Prés….. it’s just so Parisian with the art galleries, boutiques and cafés…
After an entire day of shopping, I needed a break! I headed to Les Deux Magots, a famed cafe in the area. It was once a rendezvous location for the city’s literary and intellectual figures (Sartre, Hemingway, Joyce, Picasso, Camus) but now, it’s largely frequented by fashionistas and tourists…..I opted to sit outside since the weather was perfect that day and sat beside a pair of Parisians. We had a great conversation and I actually felt like I had a more “local” experience at such a touristy café!
I ordered café crème….. the cheapest item on the menu yet the most expensive coffee of this trip..at 5.5 euros! What made it different was that the coffee and milk came separately and you can make your own coffee as milky as you want…..
FAIM? OUI OUI!!
