Another new overseas restaurant to land in HK is School Food. School Food is a popular Korean fusion chain restaurant from Seoul and obviously, there are guaranteed lineups.
Got there before 6 and I had to line up for only 5 minutes. Score!
You can’t really see but the neon signs on the wall says the food served.. Topoki, rice, soup etc..
Bloomingmari .. I thought it was their tagline cause I see it in their ads.. but it turns out to be a Kimbap (roll) dish..
blooming mari (beef kimbap)… love this fusion version.. egg wrapped outside, beef and pickles inside. This was served warm.. never had warm kimbap before. yumm!
squid ink mari….squid ink rice rolled around fried calamari and pickles and wrapped in seaweed… this was soo yummy! slightly spicy though…
loved the presentation of the kimbap rolls.. so artistic! pan grilled butter bibimbap with pickles (soy)
deconstructed view… usually bibimbap is made up of vegetables, pickles and meat but this version has egg, pickles and shredded meat…this tasted sooooooo buttery.. the butter made the rice taste very smooth while the meat and pickles gave this dish a crunch factor.. yummm
I love the fusion food at School Food.. I’ll probably go back in the near future to try out their fusion topoki (with carbonara sauce!)
