Nezameya (祢ざめ家) – Kyoto, Japan
Fushimi Inari Shrine, dedicated to the fox god, has about 10,000 orange torii (Shinto gates).
After taking lots of photos of the orange torii, we headed to lunch at Nezameya.
Nezameya, near the entrance of the shrine, has been in business since 1592.
kitsune udon (kitsune means fox)… it’s a special type of udon with sweet tasting soup..
a set consisting of unagi don and kitsune udon…
inari sushi (inari means fox god)… this is the best inari sushi I’ve had.. Unlike others, this one has a thin tofu skin and has the perfect combination of sweet and sourness of the rice…
pressed mackerel sushi… this style of sushi is famous in Kyoto.. however, the fish had a bit of fishy-taste..
Nezameya is famous for its grilled sparrow.. but it’s just not for me! Its udon and sushi are more than good enough!
FYI: The uber famous Korean actor, Bae Yong Joon, ate here before. His picture is plastered outside!
FAIM? OUI OUI!!!
