Nezameya (祢ざめ家) – Kyoto, Japan

Fushimi Inari Shrine, dedicated to the fox god, has about 10,000 orange torii (Shinto gates).

IMG_3830After taking lots of photos of the orange torii, we headed to lunch at Nezameya.

IMG_3860Nezameya, near the entrance of the shrine, has been in business since 1592.

IMG_3864kitsune udon (kitsune means fox)… it’s a special type of udon with sweet tasting soup..

IMG_3862inari sushi (inari means fox god)… this is the best inari sushi I’ve had.. Unlike others, this one has a thin tofu skin and has the perfect combination of sweet and sourness of the rice…

IMG_3861pressed mackerel sushi… this style of sushi is famous in Kyoto.. however, the fish had a bit of fishy-taste..

Nezameya is famous for its grilled sparrow.. but it’s just not for me! Its udon and sushi are more than good enough!

FYI: The uber famous Korean actor, Bae Yong Joon, ate here before.  His picture is plastered outside!

FAIM? OUI OUI!!!
