Les Faux Bourgeois (French for The Fake Middle Class), is one of the most popular restaurants on Dinehere and Urbanspoon, and has pretty good reviews. One of my foodie goals was to dine there during my Christmas vacation back in Vancouver. A family friend (and my blog reader!) suggested we either go for afternoon tea or try Les Faux Bourgeois… of course Les Faux Bourgeois!!
ESCARGOTS DE BOURGOGNE (Classic, parsley and garlic butter).. again, I think Jimmy’s has the best escargots.. this one isn’t garlicy enough. and it’s served out of the shell!
PHEASANT AND RABBIT PITHIVIERS (rabbit in a puff pastry with braised red cabbage, grilled oyster mushrooms, rabbit jus).. This was my first time having rabbit! I thought it would taste “gamey” but it tasted like mashed chicken. I love the puff pastry.. very light and buttery!
Les Faux Bourgeois is definitely a restaurant I would return to! Fantastic food and even more fantastic prices (Less than $20 per entrée and less than $10 for appetizers) !!
FAIM? OUI OUI!!!
