The Teahouse – Vancouver

One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver is the Teahouse! It has a spectacular water view and serves good food! Because it’s in Stanley Park, it’s the place to eat with out-of-towners after sightseeing!

This summer, I went to the teahouse twice for lunch and basically ordered the same dishes.. so i’m going to combine both lunches together!

we ordered:

grilled prawn salad…

Stuffed Mushrooms:  Dungeness crab & mascarpone

it’s one of the dishes i have to eat every time! soooo good!

Mussels & Frites  Salt Spring Island mussels, pancetta, & basil

this is also a dish i order every time… the mussels are so sweet and there’s plenty!

Seafood Risotto:  prawns, scallops, lemon chervil

my parents’ favourite… they said it’s way better than the risotto @ La Quercia

Linguine Vongole:  manila clams

Chef’s Burger  aged cheddar, bacon, onions, portabellini mushrooms, aïoli, frites

my brother’s favourite.. he has this every time…

Fraser Valley Duck Confit:  mashed potatoes, sauerkraut

I love this dish! the duck is so soft and tender.. the mashed potato when mixed with the sauce and onions is to die for!

the 2nd time i went there, the duck confit had a different colour but the taste is the same!

Margherita Pizza:  tomato, basil

I’ve been going to the teahouse since i was a little girl so every time we eat there, it brings back great memories!  We were so sad when the Teahouse turned into Sequoia Grill a couple year ago, but it’s great to have the original Teahouse back!
