Just came back from Vancouver!!!I ate sooooooo much so it’ll probably take a while for me to finish blogging about the Vancouver trip (and the hk eating adventures will have to a take a back seat)..
Right before I left Vancouver, I surprised my brother with an early birthday dinner @ Chambar since I’m going to miss his bday in September. I haven’t been to Chambar before but I heard great things about the place.
It’s a hip and trendy restaurant which serves authentic Belgian food!
For appetizers, we ordered:
i wrapped the tuna with the cucumber salad…. very delicious!!
this was ok.. not amazing.. i think deep-frying the escargot made it dry and tasteless….
tasty… but seriously, the portion is tiny.. so i couldn’t have enough to give a full comment..
and for mains:
this fish was tasteless and the broth was too sour…
surprisingly, the duck was quite tender even though it was roasted!
the loin was very tender.. but the portion is so tiny!
yummm! i think the mussels really lives up to its hype.. there’s plenty of mussels and the tomato broth was so rich with lots of fresh tomatos and onions! but there’s not a strong coconut taste…
this was sooooooooo rich!!!! yummmm!
i loved the lemongrass coconut ice-cream! so unique!
I liked Chambar – the servers were friendly, the food was unique and tasty… but it’s quite expensive (~$30 for entrees) considering that it’s casual dining… and there’s no bread!!!
