we always frequent the same couple of places for lunch (ramen, nice cafe, yumcha @ superstar) and it was kinda getting boring.. but my friend (and i must say, avid reader + commenter on the blog) recommended an old-school dim sum restaurant, Lin Heung Kui 蓮香居, in Sheung Wan! She said that the owner of Lin Heung Kui is a sibling of the owner of Lin Heung Teahouse (the famous old-school dimsum place in central) and that there’s currently a lawsuit regarding the name.. anyways.. it’s one of Michelin’s Bib Gourmand!!
see? it’s totally old school with the complete package! big metal teapot and the individual cup which contains your tea leaves! i still can’t get used to pouring the tea from the cup into my drinking tea cup… i end up flooding my area.. haha
i haven’t been to an old-school dimsum place before, so i was really excited to see the big steamed BBQ pork bun (cha siu bao) bottom R-corner…..it’s so huge u have to share… and the filling was really juicy! and the siu mai with quail egg (bottom L corner) was really unique.. never had that before…the minced beef ball was really tender.. basically, the dimsum’s really good.. (compared to superstar).. i like everything! and it’s served really hot! i wish lunch times were long enough for me so i can come here daily to eat instead of at the canteen!
FAIM? OUI OUI!!
